Mizoram is predominantly a Christian populated state. The word 'Mizo' means highlanders, a collective given by their neighbours to a number of tribes, believed to have come from China and settled in the area.

The state has thick bamboo forests and green vegetation throughout the year. Rivers run in narrow ribbons that seem to be challenging onlookers to plunge in for some adventure and excitement. Mizos boast of number of folk and community dances that have been handed down over the generations. They are lovers of nature and flowers.
